About

I am a teacher…because I am a learner. I love to learn new things! I enjoy mulling over new thoughts in my mind, expressing those thoughts, discussing with others, and writing about them. My favorite class sessions are those in which my students and I are discussing a topic of interest to all of us and sharing our thoughts and experiences about that topic. If something interests me, I am willing to do the research and reading to educate and inform my curiosity.

This blog is full of my random musings about education, teaching, learning, and life. I hope you enjoy reading about the topics that catch my attention on any given day. Those topics come from texts I may be reading, articles friends send to me, things my students say and do, current events, and my random, curious mind.

I am formally and informally educated. My formal education includes the following degrees (in case you are interested):

  • BA – English and Secondary Education from Cedarville University, Cedarville, OH
  • M Ed – Administration and Supervision K -12 from Frostburg State University, Frostburg, MD
  • M Ed – Educational Technology from James Madison University, Harrisonburg, VA
  • Ed D – Educational Leadership and Educational Technology from Frostburg State University, Frostburg, MD (yeah, I really am a doctor)

Informally… I read… and read… online and actual books and articles. If you have something you think might interest me, send it my way!

I am also a wife and mother. I have been married to my husband Tom for 33 years, and my two children, Kayla and Marcus, are now grown. Marcus is an engineer and entrepreneur near Savannah, GA, and Kayla is an academic adviser for graduate students.

Thanks for spending some time with me – it means more to me than you will ever know.
